1000 Markets...........Child's Play

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Did you know that St. Patty's day is an Irish-American creation, not celebrated in Ireland? From what I hear, the Irish don't even eat corned beef!! Oh well, they don't know what they're missing ;-)

Here's another 1000Markets posting, featuring the Child's Play Market:

"Child’s Play is a Market for all sorts of children’s goodies. You will find everything from hair clips with bows to little baby clothes. From non-toxic toys to art featuring girls and boys.
So look around, and take your time. From our hearts to your home. If you have any questions just drop us a line!"

In honor of St. Patty's day, I've selected a few of my favorites in green!

My, oh my..........

Where has the time gone??? I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted! Well, let's catch up, shall we??

Here's some big news for Bonhomie Jewelry (well, I think it's big anyway.....) I've been working on new packaging! Previously, I used either an organza bag or a metal tin with a "Bonhomie Jewelry" sticker on the top of the tin and the jewelry was wrapped in green tissue paper. It was okay but I wanted something a bit more professional looking. So..........

I ordered a custom stamp from Babyjewels! I'm so happy I did! Cat is awesome to work with and her prices are UNBELIEVEABLE!!! My stamp is 2 1/2"x2 1/2" - it's so big!! (picture a happy dance here!!) Obviously, I knew the dimensions prior to placing my order but I really have no mental concept of size. She worked with me on the design - okay, she came up with the design - and I love it! I am ecstatic!!! I just ordered my boxes, zip lock bags and I've designed some earring/jewelry/business cards to fit in the boxes. Once I experiment with my ink color and all the 'pieces' arrive, I'll post a photo so you can all drool over my cool, new, custom stamp! (of course, you won't have to drool if you go get one for yourself!!)

Let's see, what else?? I've had a few preliminary conversations with a local soon-to-be-open shop and I'm very excited about the possibility of consigning with her. She's planning on featuring solely handcrafted items from local (i.e. in-state) artisans. She's got a good location and we've nothing similar in this area right how so I think she'll do well.

Hmmm...........oh! Also keeping me busy as of late (in addition to jewelry orders. YAY!) is a new client for my Virtual Assistant business! Referred by a friend/current client, it's a great fit!

Things are going very well over here.........we've found a church we like and God is opening doors for us. We're blessed :-)

The wonderful world of blogging...........

I've met some wonderful people in this great, big blogosphere and a I've been a bit remiss in acknowleding some tags from a few of those wonderful people!

In no particular order, Tammy over at Tammy's Treasure Chest has tagged me. I'm supposed to post the 4th photo in my 'pictures' file and tell you about it. Since my 'pictures' folder is organized into subfolders, I'll choose the 4th picture in the 4th folder (I really hope this works to my advantage - I haven't looked yet but I promise I won't change my directives!) And the winner is..............

....my son, Aidan! (thank goodness!!) This photo was taken on October 11, 2007 so that would make him just a few days over 14 months old. Big boy, isn't he? Based on the photos before and after this shot (and my very limited memory), I was a bit enthralled with the fact that he was playing by himself. Evidently he didn't think it was such a big deal ;-) Side note: it was early in the morning and I hadn't yet done his hair (yes, my son's hair requires maintenance AND product!!!) just so you don't think I let him go out in public looking like that *grin*.

And now I'm supposed to tag 4 others so I choose:

Victoria at BikuDesigns
Chrissy Ann at Chrissy Ann Ceramics
Tany at Inspired by Hand
Vanessa at Designs by Vanessa

Next: Paige at Lenox Knits passed on an awesome award to me and I'm truely honored. She's also an awesome knitter and made the first purchase at my 1000Markets shop!

It's the "Let's Be Friends" award. And here's the description -

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Now I'd like to pass this award on to:

Tammy at Tammy's Treasure Chest
Leah at Michon Jewlery Blog
Cheryl at Lavender Cottage Originals
Susan at Hot Rocks Glass Jewels
Janice at A Metalsmith's Journey
Robin at Cinnamon and Honey

It's quite probable that I was supposed to pass this award to a few more people but time is not my friend today and I've one more piece of news to share.......

You may recall that last month, I decided that 5% of my proceeds were going to be donated to the NAACP in honor of Black History Month. I'm very happy to say that I made my donation today!! Even though it wasn't much, I'm elated that others like my work enough to buy it and that I'm able to support the organizations and causes that are important to me.

So, I'd like to relay my gratitude to all who read this blog and my customers, new and old.

THANK YOU!!
