it’s the little things…{first day of fall!}

i love summertime and all it represents………warm weather, beaches, summer vacation (insert nostalgic sigh here).

but when fall rolls around, i’m happy to see it and everything it brings:

fall foliage….

awesome photo opps. and guess what? we’re having some family photos done this fall! i’m so excited :-D

hot apple cider….

yum! and mulled cider…double yum!

and how about some fall decorating…..

i love mums with pumpkins!

in our house, fall also means crockpots…….

we’re having a family reunion/fall festival/early octoberfest this weekend. maybe i’ll bring this!

how about some boots, scarves & comfy clothes…….

i just got a new pair of boots – and to think i honestly believed i’d get through the season without purchasing a new pair. silly girl!

also planned for this fall is a trip to visit my sister in elmira, ny and the women of faith conference!

it’s the little things, right?

i’m linking up with lindsay today over at aisle to aloha where everyone is giving their take on the little things that make them happy. and be sure to check out my feature while you’re there for a nice little gift!

Fall….

Blog

i’ve seen so many blogs with fabulous photos of their seasonal decor and i was envious inspired. i don’t usually change my decor for the seasons unless it’s christmas…. it takes me so long to get everything the way i like it so i don’t like to move stuff around too much. and i usually can’t remember where everything went when it’s time to put it back! but i do attempt some fall decor outside and i just recently realized why that’s a bit easier for me – the colors of the inside of my house already reflect the fall season!

i love the gold and dark red in the kitchen (the wall treatment was super easy – apply some drywall mud, paint the solid color then hit it with a glaze!) and that same red is used in the living room, too. i will admit to using silk flowers in the window box. i’ve discovered that as much as i love beautiful gardens and flowers, maintenance of said gardens and flowers is not my strong suit.

how do you decorate for the seasons?

Elements....

Take some seemingly unrelated elements: wind, a child, and a leaf. Put them all together and what do you get????

Seemingly unrelated or just different becomes cohesive - and pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!!! ;-)

Such is the theme of my new collection: "Elements" - a combination of metals, finishes and components.

Leather and metal:

Mixed metals:

This collection seems to coincide with my fall fashion statement: frye boots, skinny jeans, plaid shirt or a tee - but maybe I'll throw in some thigh-high, high-heeled boots! Either way, the combinations work without being overdone. Casual, cool, easy.

New website!!

Okay, first I'll start with my momentary lack of intelligence. I've written about three post since the last one.......where are they, you ask? On a draft blog I created with the intention of selling my charm necklaces. Fat lotta good that does you, right?

Long story (previously told to an audience of ZERO), the blog wasn't going to work out so I created a new website (yay, me!). My custom charm necklaces can now be purchased online at http://www.bonhomiejewelry.com/. At some point in time, I may move my blog over there but since I've just cleaned up my side bar - go ahead and look - I'll hang out here for a little bit. You'll notice that the top of my sidebar now features a permanent link to my Bonhomie Charms site. Well, what else? ;-)

And in other news........I've been giving some serious thought to my fall wardrobe. Jewelry design comes naturally to me but I can't put together an outfit to save my life! I admit with no shame a bit of shame that I've been checking out the Who.What.Wear videos to figure it all out. While deciding on my 'fall look' (which I'll probably never achieve - who has the time to go shopping!?!?!) I'm realizing that I'd like my jewelry to be a bit simpler than my most recent Couleurs line - though that line will work with some of my imagined fall outfits (I LOVE that line!!!). Mind you, simple doesn't mean lack-of-statement. At least not to me. So here's what I'm thinking:

My "Pebbles" collection - organic, natural, makes a statement without over-powering. Stack the rings, wear them alone.........I'm also going to add at least one necklace and maybe a bracelet. Speaking of bracelets, I've got some copper bangles in mind for the fall, too! So much to do!

So pop over to my new site, let me know what you think and give me some feedback on this new line - like, hate, don't care.......?? Either way, lemme have it!

possibly (though most times NOT) related posts....
